The Education of Gifted and Talented Students in Western Australia

Gifted and talented students should be provided with the opportunity to achieve educational outcomes commensurate with their ability to enable these students to fulfil their potential and contribute to the development of society.

The Department of Education and Training is committed to providing such opportunities in government schools. All schools are responsible for the ongoing identification of gifted and talented students and provision for these students. It is also important that these processes are monitored.
