Students' Work
A CLASS ACT
The students in A Class Act 2009 combined their creative ideas to produce and perform their own play, The Snowella of Oz. This play was performed to an invited audience, who thoroughly enjoyed the show. Congratulations to all students involved.

PEAC BRAINSTORM CHALLENGE DAY 2009

Each year, PEAC students from across the state participate in a day of science and technology based challenges at Scitech.  Sixteen students from West Coast worked in eight pairs on three challenges, including the construction of paper planes that consistently carried out some carefully planned tricks, the rearrangement of music into a correct sequence and the construction of spaghetti and marshmallow bridges.  Here are some photos of students on the day:

PEAC ARTS CHALLENGE DAY 2009

Each year, PEAC students from across the state participate in a day of arts based challenges at the Art Gallery of Western Australia.  Once again, West Coast PEAC entered two teams both of whom enjoyed the opportunity to work in the gallery space and also to meet other PEAC students. Here they are back at the PEAC centre surrounded by their works of art!

POWERFUL PLANTS

Students have had the opportunity to work with Yvonne Van Der Ploeg in this research-based course.  Yvonne is a former PEAC teacher who has been the Education and Communications Manager of the ARC Centre of Excellence in Plant Biology at UWA for the last three years.

Students have been devising their own plant experiments. The student with the best overall project, Caitlin, had the chance to present her work on Salt Tolerance of Plants to several hundred secondary students at UWA's ExSCItement event held during Science Week.  Caitlin also caught up with Professor Lyn Beazley (WA Chief Scientist) and Josh Byrne (Gardening Australia presenter).  Here are some photos:
